Within the gym, you will find some of the best fitness equipment suitable for beginners in training and professional athletes. In January 2019 we refurbished our entire gym floor with brand new, state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, allowing you to get the very most out of your workout and track your progress with our innovative tracking bands or key fobs.  Our equipment is easy to use and is linked directly to our Lanes Health Clubs app. Where you can track progress and explore new machines.

Our team of fitness professionals are ready to help you start your fitness journey and become a better version of yourself.

When you first join our club one of our friendly team will listen to you and what you want from your training sessions. They will then run through the equipment with you and build you a bespoke exercise programme. There is no one-size-fits-all method to this, what your programme looks like at Lanes depends on your abilities, preferences and strengths.

Personal Training

At Lanes, Personal Training is about health, wellness and wellbeing. We listen to why you chose Personal Training and tailor our approach to reach your goals. Whether it is to increase your energy levels, flexibility, strength or for fat loss, we can help.

Within Personal Training you will receive the following:

A Personal Training program which will focus on your goals. With a program that is tailored to you, you are more likely to maintain the habit and see results. Your unique body mechanics, experience, goals, fitness level, likes and dislikes can guide your trainer in creating a plan that is specific to your needs.

A personal nutrition and diet plan which will support your training and recovery and will aim to improve your health and wellbeing.

Motivation, advice and support throughout in a safe environment as well as monthly goal reviews and body composition checks.

– Our Personal Trainers will give you guidance and will teach you correct proper exercise technique can improve your results and prevent injuries.

Quick Classes

If you’re looking for something different in the gym, or for some new motivation, our Quick Classes are just the ticket! You can book within the Lanes App and work up a sweat! Quick Classes promise a short, sharp and sweet workout, catering for all fitness levels, using a wide range of equipment.

Why not try it out?


At Lanes we have a 25-metre pool that comes with no children – apart from 3.30pm to 5:30pm daily – which means you can plough up and down to your hearts’ content. We also hold regular varied Aqua Classes in the pool.

If you forget your towel, we’ve got some at the front desk to hire for £2. You can also have as many as you like each month as part of our monthly towel hire at £17.50 a month .

Swimming Lessons

We offer Adult Swimming lessons, both one-to-one and group lessons. Our lessons are tailored to your personal needs, whether you’re a complete beginner, wanting to perfect your stroke or are in training for an event.

Pelvic floor improvement This is a common goal for women and the right exercises can make significant improvements to pelvic floor strength.

Moderating chronic conditions Health issues such as heart disease or dementia impose physical and emotional demands. We understand and we’ll work with you to improve how you feel.

Doctor’s orders We’re home to many who’ve had that GP discussion. The one that goes, ‘Your blood pressure/cholesterol is too high’ or ‘You’re borderline pre-diabetic’. We get it.
