Exercise Classes

Our group-based fitness classes are tailored to sweat hard, relax, stretch, or even tone up – whatever your goals are, we have a class for you. With over 90 exercise classes, find your routine at Lanes.

We also offer a variety of Holistic Classes from Yoga, Pilates and Thai Chi to Yogic Sleep, Pure Stretch & Body Balance. Holistic classes focus on relaxation, reducing tension and have so many physical benefits.

High Intensity


Circuit Training

Functional and strength training circuit session run by the Gym Team, this class will take you through your paces building strength, stamina and functional fitness.

Body Attack

This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic moves with strength and stabilisation exercises. Designed to build strength and stamina. This class is not for the faint-hearted.


If you want to work really hard this is the class for you. Our instructors will push you all the way working all areas of your body with no excuses. If you like it tough this one is for you.

Body Combat™

Fun and energetic martial arts cardio workout which involves elements of Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai mixed in with up-beat tracks. No physical contact is required.

Box Fit

This is an exercise class based on the training concepts boxers use to keep fit. Using pads and gloves will work in pairs or small groups. Great fun with different exercises each week.


High Intensity Interval Training requires 100% effort. Our gym team will take you through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods. You do not need to do more than 20 minutes of this session to burn fat and work hard.

Mind & Body



This class focuses on correct body alignment and lateral breathing in order to improve flexibility, core strength, muscular endurance, co-ordinations and balance.

Yogic Sleep

This class will guide you into a deep state of relaxation. Do bring blankets and pillows as you lie down throughout the class. Enabling you to experience relaxation like never before.

Pure Stretch

Improve your core strength and flexibility with this fun stretch class. This session is suitable for anyone who wants to have fun, mobilise through movement and really stretch those tight muscles.

T'ai Chi

This traditional practice circulates and rebalances energy in the body through gentle flowing movements. This class is also excellent for balance.

Body Balance™

This yoga-based class will improve your mind and body using a combination of simple flowing Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates moves. A new generation of yoga that will improve your life.


Inspired by elements of ballet, yoga and pilates. Barre focuses on low impact, high intensity movements designed to strengthen your body in ways few other workouts can.


An ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental well-being. At Lanes we offer a variety of Yoga classes with our highly trained team of instructors who run different sessions ranging from Hatha, Flow and Iyengar.

Cardio & Dance


Group Cycling

This is an endurance based class using periods of speed work combined with resistance training.  Perfect for those with joint injuries who need to improve their cardio without the impact.  Our instructor’s music, motivation and enthusiasm will keep you going when it gets tough.  Remember you work at your own pace.


A Latin inspired dance based workout.  Burn calories and tone your body the fun way.

Run Club

A friendly group who runs/jogs 5 km outside in all weathers at their own speed around Angmering/Rustington.  The class will help you improve your running ability and allow you to run with other like-minded people.

Legs, Bums & Tums

Working all those stubborn areas, this class will burn fat, tone up and shape the thighs, buttocks and abdominals both standing and floor based exercises will be used.

Strictly Lanes

This dance class will cover Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble, Samba, Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot and Tango.


Popular hits and hot dance moves. Sh’bam is the perfect way to shape up and let out your inner star.

Dance Fit

A mix of dance and fitness to burn calories & tone. Dance, achieve, inspire, sweat.

Group Cycle Circuits

This 45 minutes class combines 30 minutes of group cycle followed by 15 minutes of circuits to tone all areas of the body.

Strength & Power


Body Pump™

This is a full body barbell, dumbbells and plates workout that will burn calories, whilst shaping and toning your entire body.  In addition, you will also improve your core strength and bone health.


30 minutes of exercises to work your whole core. Instructors may use small weights and resistance bands to ensure a varied workout.  Great as a standalone class or add onto any cardio workout.

Fitness Pilates (Intermediate)

Aims to identify basic postural imbalances. This class increases muscular balance and strength to improve your overall posture.  This is more challenging than our normal Pilates classes and therefore is more suited to those who are injury free.

Use It or Lose It - Specialist Class

Aimed at those over the age of 60 or for those members who are unable to get to the floor.  This class is a mixture of easy and fun exercise moves designed to improve balance, strength, mobility and brain function.

Chair Exercise

Designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and improve activities for daily living.

Abs & Core

30 minutes of exercises to work your whole core. Instructors may use small weights and resistance bands to ensure a varied workout.  Great as a standalone class or add onto any cardio workout.


Increase total body, muscular strength and stamina with our kettlebell class.



Aqua Fit

45 min continuous workout using high energy movements to work on cardio and heart rate. Incorporating water weights. An energetic workout to retro tunes.

Aqua Groove

45 min workout to dance tunes, using dance moves in the water- a great feel-good workout to sing along to. Workout for the body and mind- strengthening those Motor skills.

Aqua Strong

Using equipment to strengthen and tone the body. Water noodles and weights which will help you work on your core. Using the force of the water and using your own body weight to take your legs off the floor as you float. Great for a core & upper body workout.

Express Aqua

A 30 min shorter class- Squeezing all your favourite aqua moves in a express class for those who have busy lives or just want a short blast. Also great for those who are trying Aqua for the first time.

Classic Aqua Aerobics

Work out to the beat of your favourite tunes with classic basic movements for a full body workout.
